BUSINESS OR PLEASURE

Lovely meal out with our dog on holiday. Food and service were great. My husband had the steak pie which he was very impressed with. I had gammon with crushed potato’s which was really tasty. Both meals were very well presented. We booked primarily because it was dog friendly but would be back if we stayed in the area again.

Great cosy little place. Sat together in a little booth next to the fire, couldn’t fault atmosphere. Food was great as was the price. Would look to return if in the area again.

We revisited this place. First time since it was renamed and the extension completed. Wow. Is all I can say. I had the mackerel pate which was the first I had tasted for 2 years since loosing my taste sense! Awesome and amazing proper pie. None of this pie mix with a pre cut lid. No proper pie pastry all round! Lovely warm room and added bonus of horses paying a visit. Well worth paying a visit. You won’t be disappointed!!

We decided to go here at the last minute. It was easy to book a table , even though it was busy. Everything from the service to the delicious food was excellent

They needed to distinguish themselves from the other Punchbowls in the area – thus the new name. We were there with friends and family who live in Underbarrow and are frequent visitors to the Black Labrador. We were delighted with the inn. We were in the older upper part but saw the impressive new eating area. The staff were welcoming and the food excellent – six of us each had a different dish from the menu. My portobello mushrooms with goats cheese were really tasty and all the others were delighted with their chicken, hake etc. A lovely welcoming place to eat.
